The mother of all walk-backs:
President Obama’s advisers are nearing a recommendation that Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, be prosecuted in a military tribunal, administration officials said, a step that would reverse Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.’s plan to try him in civilian court in New York City.
The president’s advisers feel increasingly hemmed in by bipartisan opposition to a federal trial in New York and demands, mainly from Republicans, that Mohammed and his accused co-conspirators remain under military jurisdiction, officials said. While Obama has favored trying some alleged terrorists in civilian courts as a symbol of U.S. commitment to the rule of law, critics have said military tribunals are the appropriate venue for those accused of attacking the United States.

Reading the story about his departure brings to mind this article, in which I argued that Gregory Craig, the outgoing White House Counsel, was being made a scapegoat for the Obama Administration’s failure to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay.

The more one examines the evidence, the more one finds the Obama Administration upholding Bush Administration policies which attracted the ire and fury of the Left, and which were supposed to be overturned as soon as Hope and Change arrived in Washington.
In addition the many other things that are backlogged in the White House, the Obama Administration has delayed releasing a report on the custody and interrogation of terrorist suspects:

A pop-star persona can only take you so far in the White House. At some point, if you are the President, you have to produce. And many people are coming to the conclusion that when it comes to the economy, Barack Obama hasn’t produced:
