Behold. He disses the Vice President’s idea of scaling down the American military presence, and points out that we don’t have forever in designing and implementing a strategy. And he is making his statements in public; a brave move and a necessary one given the seriousness and importance of the issue. One hopes that his civilian leaders don’t decide to shoot the messenger.
Would that the Administration showed the same degree of alacrity McChrystal is showing. Once again, it is worth asking: Whatever happened to “listening to the generals”?
If only McChrystal were a union man, perhaps he might be able to get more of the President’s time.
