This Discussion Was Rigged

by Pejman Yousefzadeh

I don’t know what the point is of having a confab on health care beamed into the homes of Americans, when that confab turns out to be entirely one-sided in favor of the Obama Administration. Unless it was part of ABC’s plan to give the Administration a chance to be blatantly propagandistic concerning its health care reform proposals, I don’t know how the broadcast achieved any of their goals. (Of course, if it was part of ABC’s plan to give the Administration a chance to be blatantly propagandistic concerning its health care reform proposals, I would not be surprised in the least.)

What is indisputable is that good policy is not made through one-sided conversations. But Barack Obama seems less interested in good policy, and more interested in scoring political points.

Hope that’s comforting if and when the system he proposes gets implemented and promptly starts failing calamitously.
