On Sonia Sotomayor

My take. Of course, at the end of the day, I expect Judge Sotomayor to be confirmed, but that confirmation should not be automatic. There are far too many questions that need to be resolved, and rubber-stamping Judge Sotomayor’s nomination simply will not do. Every available tool is needed to ensure that the Senate deliberates carefully over this nomination, instead of simply passing it through without serious thought being given to President Obama’s choice.
