Loven and Tapper vs. Gibbs: The Instant Replay

by Brad Jackson

Yesterday, Francis covered Obama’s instruction to his cabinet to find $100 million in cost savings and just how meaningless that number seems in light of the $3.6 trillion budget that the administration has proposed. As Francis so illustratively pointed out, it takes a lot of $100 millions to make a dent in a budget that gigantic.

Below is a great video exchange of the White House Press Briefing where AP reporter, Jennifer Loven and ABC News’ Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper question Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the real impact of Obama’s “cost saving” plans.

Watch Gibbs try to insist that in this instance $100 million is a big number, even though just a few weeks ago he called an $8 Billion appropriations bill “minuscule”.
